Without a doubt, paralegals are critical to the process of civil litigation. Not only do they work closely with attorneys on the progress of their cases, but they are also often the first line of communication for the clients the law firm represents. It’s a demanding job that requires excellent communication and specialized knowledge of the law.
To support paralegals working in mass tort litigation, Mass Torts Made Perfect (MTMP) Connect recently launched Paralegal College, a series of free webinars specifically for them. In these webinars, panels of lawyers and paralegals cover a variety of topics in depth, including:
- Remote work and productivity best practices,
- Communication strategies among mass tort teams and with clients, opposing counsel, and legal service vendors,
- Case organization including organizing files, tracking information, and dealing with the multitude of documents involved in mass torts,
- Supporting attorneys before and during depositions,
- Prioritizing and being a self-starter, and more.
These webinars are a can’t-miss for mass tort paralegals, as MTMP is an authority on all things mass tort litigation. The bi-annual conference is typically held in the spring and fall each year in Las Vegas for individuals working in plaintiff mass tort and class action litigation. The Milestone team is a longtime attendee and supporter of MTMP, which gathers some of the best and brightest mass tort lawyers from all over the country. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MTMP cancelled its spring conference, but the group pivoted to offer free webinars through MTMP Connect to still present the talks planned for Las Vegas. MTMP Connect is a project of Mass Torts Made Perfect, the Levin Papantonio law firm, and the National Trial Lawyers Association.
Paralegals can register for the webinars at mtmp.com/paralegalcollege. We’re sure attendees will walk away (from their computers) with new insight and tips that will benefit their careers now and in the future.
